Pat Anthony

Congratulations to Pat on receiving honorable mention for her submission to the Writer’s Digest 2021 November Poem-A-Day Chapbook Challenge! Every year, Robert Lee Brewer offers this opportunity for poets from around the globe to submit a chapbook of poems written in response to his November prompts. Pat’s chapbook is titled STURM and DRANG.

In addition to Pat, we’d like to congratulate former Bloomers (and current poetic friends) De Miller Jackson (finalist for Losing the Shoes), and J. Lynn Sheridan (honorable mention for Lost).

The winner of the challenge is Taylor Graham, who, though not a Bloomer, is a poet Walt and I and many here have known and admired for years. Her chapbook is titled November Home. Excerpts may be read at

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, PAT! We are honored to have you share your talent with us week after week!

  1. Congratulations, Pat. Your writing always leaves me feeling elevated, and this honor testifies to your sustained ability to do that.

  2. THANK YOU to Poetic Bloomings, Walt & Marie, and to each of you in our writing community. You are the wind beneath my wings, the spark every Sunday that makes me reach deep and try to bring forth something worth sharing. Thank you for this Spotlight and for each one of you being awesome writers and readers. It may sound like cliche but I couldn’t do it without all of you that challenge and support me.
