Bloomin’ information (because there’s always a business end ;) )

Good morning, Bloomers!

Since we have friends returning (yay!), and new friends arriving (yay!), I thought now a good time to revisit who we are, and what to expect.

1. Walt is in the process of revamping us a bit. Once that is complete, we’ll send out an announcement, and give you a tour.

2. We have always been, and will continue to be, a soft landing place for anyone interested in reading or writing poetry. Here is what I mean by “soft landing”:

a. All ages are welcome, from children through elderly. Please keep that in mind when posting poetry, and when commenting. (Think, “Rated for General Audience.” )
b. We welcome all kind, constructive, encouraging comments and discussion under any given poem. We have been a truly peace-filled space from the beginning, and Walt and I will make sure it stays that way.
c. We have had friends here who are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Pagan, Atheist, etc. All are welcome, and welcome to express themselves in the context of their own belief system(s). This applies also to those who are different from ourselves in any way culturally, politically, etc. This is a poetry site … not a space for reprimanding, correcting, or belittling. This is another aspect of this site and our guests that Walt and I are so thankful for, and we will work hard to keep it this way.

3. In addition to the prompts, we provide form information, interviews, space for each poet to house their own poems, space for celebrating accomplishments such as awards and publications, and multiple other features. Once the revamping of this site is complete, we will do another information post to list all the features and links to each one.

4. Question: Does anyone find it difficult to post and/or comment to this site? We have the settings intentionally set so that nothing can get in your way. However, it was just brought to my attention that one of our longest-standing Bloomers has difficulty posting and commenting. Noooo! While we try to figure out the problem, please let us know if you have any trouble.

That’s it for now. There will be more to come. In the meantime, thank you all for making our little poetic garden bloom brightly!

God bless you all!
Marie Elena
