WALT’S TRIQUINT:

SILENT ECHOES

He heard her whispered call as he slept,
into his mind she had crept.
He had to accept
she had stepped.
Gone!

When the sadness got so strong, he wept,
it made him feel so inept.
He had to accept
she had stepped.
Done!

How he wished that he could intercept,
such a roving heart, windswept.
He had to accept
she had stepped.
None!

In honor of have a heart for a chained dog week . . .

He barks greetings and you offer treats
    Eagerly he trots to eat
    Six feet. . .eight. . . defeat!
    He retreats
    Chain

He lazes under the summer heat
Till clouds form over his seat
    Six feet. . . eight. . .defeat!
    He retreats
    Rain

He waits for his master but he cheats
    Footsteps made by children’s feet
Six feet. . .eight. . .defeat!
    He retreats
    Pain

This looked easy on the surface, but was actually quite a challenge. For one verse, no problem, but tying 3 together takes a bit of finagling. Nevertheless, I do love the challenge. Thanks.

    The Decision

    One important decision we make
Before the day we don’t wake
    We wait at The Gate
    For our fate
    Fly!

The signals were clear to formulate
The one choice we had to make
    We wait at The Gate
    For our fate
    Why?

Far be it from me to speculate
    Read God’s mind or contemplate
    We wait at The Gate
    For our fate
    My!

  3. No Accident

Accidental death is what they’ve ruled
She said they were being fooled
    Victim was bejeweled
    Perp had tools
    Took!

A little kitten began to mewl
    followed them around the pool
    Victim was bejeweled
    Perp had tools
    Look!

    In kitten’s paw behold, minuscule
    diamond earring, search the school
    Victim was bejeweled
    Perp had tools
    Crook!

    DESIDERATA

    A wild bird nests in a gravel pit;
only it knows the best fit,
    and may God permit
    to let it
    be.

If a caged bird pines to more than flit,
one must loose it for its grit
    and, may God permit,
    to let it
    flee.

If a man should have but little wit,
one must excuse him to twit.
    And may God permit
    to let it
    free.

    The Play

In the beginning we have no say
Where we’ll end up that first day
    Our plan is His way
    If we play
    Womb!

Ours is the power to choose our way
    Choice to refuse or obey
    Our plan is His way
    If we play
    Tomb!

This life we live will soon pass away
    No second chance or replay
    Our plan is His way
    If we play
    Boom!!
