POETIC BLOOMINGS

POETIC BLOOMINGS is a Phoenix Rising Poetry Guild site established in May 2011 to nurture and inspire the creative spirit.

CONGRATULATIONS TO WILLIAM PRESTON!

The Writer’s Digest’s Robert Lee Brewer just announced the 2013 Poetic Asides Poet Laureate … our own William Preston!

Bill, you came on the scene with a humble demeanor, encouraging heart, and astounding talent.  We could not be more proud and pleased for you for this well-deserved honor.

Congratulations also to our own Poetic Bloomings “Bloomers” who made Robert’s  Top 25 list:  De Jackson, Nancy Posey, Jane Shlensky, William Preston, and Walter Wojtanik!

MAN this place rocks!  😀

  6. WoW! Congratulations. I gave up on PA this year as I find the website hard to penetrate. Perhaps I should try again to read all your lovely poems.

Thank you all. I’m not kidding when I say I’m still trying to assimilate this; in my view, so many on the Poetic Asides site and this one are much better poets than I am, so that makes it all the more humbling.

Congratulations to De. Nancy, Jane, and Walt for being part of Robert Brewer’s list, and congratulations also to Marie, whose efforts at nurturing a community of poets was recognized by Robert.

  8. William, we are all so proud of you! Congratulations, my friend.

  9. Congrats to all the winners but esp., to William who is most deserving of this award. Standing ovation to the PB poets!

  13. I wasn’t around during the April challenge, but from what I know of the Top 25’s work, this is a well-deserved honor for each these talented poets. And, William, I congratulate you for being the chosen Poet Laureate. You and your poetry are everything Robert described … and more!

Congratulations, William!! And, of course to all who made the list — Awesome Talent!!

  15. What I love most about this April’s PAD challenge is that a nurturer gets recognized both for excellence in writing and also excellence at encouraging others. Congrats to both Bill, our new laureate at PA, and Marie, for parenting poets so well. And I’m pleased as punch to see other poet friends on that list, including Walt, who has shepherded us so well for years and who knows something about being a laureate himself. You are all feeling more and more like kinfolk 😉

  16. Congratulations William!!! Well deserved recognition! 🙂 Congrats to everyone in the top 25!

  17. Congrats, William! You definitely deserve it. 🙂
